The Beginning

There were several gods who ruled over the universe. Each of them claimed to be the most powerful, and they were constantly engaged in battles to prove their might.
One day, they grew tired of fighting each other and came up with a new idea – The Grimrealm Championship where they could create creatures to fight on their behalf. The winner of the championship would earn the favor of all the gods, gaining immense power and influence over the lands they ruled.
Excited by this new prospect, the gods set to work creating their own unique creatures. Some made fearsome beasts with razor-sharp teeth and powerful muscles, while others crafted agile creatures with lightning-fast reflexes.
The creatures were then pitted against each other in epic battles that shook the very foundations of the universe. The gods watched from their thrones, cheering on their chosen champions and reveling in the bloodshed and glory.

Jethro Ashmane

Hidden deep within Mount Pyre lives Pride Shadowbane: a league of fierce assassins. Jethro Ashmane, firstborn of Kendrew Ashmane, is heir to the Shadowbane Throne. Disillusioned by the dull and lengthy trials that precede coronation, Jethro became the champion of Gol Bawth, God of War and Glory, in an act of defiance against his father. Proud Kendrew insists that his son endure the Shadowbane Trials to earn his command of the Pride, but Jethro resents his father’s adherence to tradition. He seeks to earn honor and glory in the Grimrealm, and with the patronage of Gol Bawth, take the Shadowbane Throne by force.

Assasin

Dual Wielded Axes

Among the sanguine leaves of the Borea Opora, the Forest of Autumn Eternal, the tribes of Evereska hunt. Born to two members of the Grand Council, Aldi and Gareth Fellclaw, Illyana was a prodigious hunter from a young age. She trained closely under her father, until he was killed by an encroaching band of the Shadizar Shogunate. She swore an oath to Prylith, the Earthen God of Knowledge, the Lifeblood of the Stone and Trees, that should she attain victory in the Grimrealm, she would be granted the knowledge of her father’s killer and in turn exact vengeance in her father’s name.

The ancient city of Ymloor is caught in the crossfire of three clans, all waging war for control of the shattered Shadizar Shogunate. Raised in the gutter on the streets of the Valley City, Koda joined the Monastic Order of the Immanents to regain a semblance of control amidst the chaos. As an Immanent, he learned to harness his newfound discipline to bring peace to his own unsound mind, but his long standing rage for the injustice born upon his people burns just beneath. He joins the Grimrealm, holding a piece of shared divinity as all Immanents do, to rid himself of this conflict; Either by bringing peace to his valley home, or through the solemn ascension that only death can bring.

Armed Melee

On the windy highland shores, the towers of the College of Vallia keep vigil over the sea and stars. A promising mage and the youngest to hold a seat on the Vallian Council, Zayena bears the mantle of Emissary Arcane. This title has been passed from mage to apprentice since Yvratzil, The Eye Arcane, first selected a champion. The eclectic deity has hence left the selection of its new champion to their predecessor, each gaining the knowledge and wisdom of the Emissaries before them. In gaining the title of Emissary Arcane, Zayena has unearthed a dark secret that threatens to unravel Vallia to its very core.

Raleth Immovable

Raleth was blessed with great strength and combat prowess, chosen from birth by the God Zdahn, the Enduring Oak. She has not always been so keen on being a Champion, often ignoring Zdahn’s call. While Zdahn may have laid out her destiny as a warrior, Raleth finds true joy in poetry and song. When Zdahn could not endure her rebellion any longer, he took the one thing she loved more than anything: her voice. She remains silent and unspeaking until her duties to him are fulfilled and Zdahn's curse is lifted. Some have deigned to mock her for this curse; All have regretted it.
